In ACF 6.5 we have added a 'Default to Today' setting for the Date Picker and DateTime Picker, which uses the current date as the default value for this field.

Natalie Small Thanks for the feedback. A default would be good, and I'm interested to see how you would use it - would you typically want to set the default to be 'today'?

Iain Poulson Yup something like "Today" or another default value like a "A month back" "A month forward" or a specific date. It would be useful for generating receipts, where the date always is today's date. But can be used for many more usecases.
